Pros

Close to home -- short commute. Decent, up-to-date laptop to work with.

Cons

Below are four notable highlights from my work log during my career at Thermon: Aug 2015: In an open meeting, a director said, "Two to the third power equals seven." After writing out the long form of the math, the same director refused to acknowledge the fallacy -- it was reminiscent of the Ministry of Truth in the book "1984". Oct 2016: At the tail end of an 84-hour work week, my supervisor walks into my office, closes the door, and tells me "When you get things done, it makes the department look bad." Dec 2016: After accumulating 170 hours of paid time off (PTO), I was denied vacation at Christmas because it would look bad. On Jan 1, I could only carry over 40 hours and lost the remaining 110. Jun 2017: After getting June vacation approved in Feb 2017, was asked if I could "adjust" my PTO the night before my departure or begin work on low-priority issues while on vacation. When I refused, management began recruiting for my position the next day. I took this job when the unemployment rate was 7.8%. With zero opportunity for advancement, there's really no reason to work there when the unemployment rate is hovering around 4.2%. Learn from my mistakes. Thermon Inc is a toxic place to work and should be avoided -- unless you're in the inner circle of nepotism.

Pros

Excellent leadership structure, safety driving management and huge focus on safety from the grassroot.

Cons

Excessive Workload and not enough safety professionals. Safety Manager manages multiple sites, and the work could be overwhelming sometimes.
