Pros
• Some good coworkers are still trying to keep the spirit alive. • Health insurance covers a lot (though it’s very expensive).
Cons
• A tale as old as capitalism: big corporation swallows a smaller company with soul, then squeezes out the humanity in favor of profits. • Leadership is hidden. In the past year since the new CEO took over, she’s only appeared to the company a couple of times. You can’t speak to her unless your boss and your boss’s boss approve it. • The “head of people” doesn’t know people at all. Employees feel like headcount, not humans. • CEO’s right-hand admin has been overheard trashing employees in common areas. Leadership is openly disrespectful, not just disconnected. • Engagement roles were cut, but employees are still forced back to the office while certain leaders quietly keep remote privileges.
