Pros
(This relates only to the San Francisco office, which was closed 12/31/2008) Since they purchased our group from Providian, they retained everyone's salaries, which were relatively high because most of us were hired when Providian was flush. Benefits were pretty generous.
Cons
There was a feeling that our office was definitely a satellite office, like we were the "poor relations." Communication from headquarters was minimal, at least to the non-managers. Decisions seemed to be reactionary, not proactive. Software and hardware updates were slow or non-existent, with a sense that things were done on the cheap. It seemed that headquarters really didn't understand what our office did and how to utilize and market our skills.
