The Four Ferns Response

Thank you for this honest review, and for recognising our grounds, our residents, and the practical support we provide including free meals. We appreciate you taking the time. The concerns you raise matter to us. Fair and equal treatment for everyone, regardless of nationality or background, is not negotiable here, and favouritism of any kind runs against the values we are working to embed. We are a proudly multinational team (27 different nationalities), and in a care setting we also ask that communication keeps residents safe and every colleague included, which is about teamwork, not anyone's heritage. On pay, we know the work is hard. For anyone reading, it starts above the national minimum at €14.50 to €16.00 an hour, with a pension, maternity benefits, life cover, long term illness income protection, paid training and educational assistance, and a recognition and wellbeing programme. If you are open to it, please contact our HR team so we can look into anything specific. We wish you well in your next role.

Pros

Working at The Four Ferns Nursing Home has been a very rewarding experience. What stands out most is the supportive and respectful culture. Management encourages open communication, values staff opinions, and is always willing to listen when challenges arise. The team is one of the biggest strengths of the organisation. Everyone works together with the shared goal of providing the highest standard of person-centred care. Colleagues are approachable, supportive, and always willing to help one another, creating a positive and welcoming working environment. There are also excellent opportunities for career development. Staff are encouraged to attend training, develop new skills, and progress professionally. Those who show commitment and initiative are supported to take on greater responsibilities and advance within the organisation. Most importantly, there is a genuine focus on residents’ wellbeing, dignity, and quality of life. It is rewarding to be part of a team that strives to make a positive difference every day. I would recommend The Four Ferns Nursing Home to anyone looking for a workplace that values teamwork, continuous learning, and compassionate care.

Cons

Like any busy nursing home, some shifts can be demanding, particularly during periods of high occupancy. Continued recruitment and retention of staff would help reduce workload pressures and further enhance the work environment.

Pros

The Four Ferns offers a wife range of opportunities to all the staff who are inclined to develop their skills and enhances their career to the next level. For 3 years that I have been working in this company I can see growth and endless chasing of excellence. for which TFF becomes exceptional and difficult to par with other nursing homes. Personally I have experienced the company's support and my backbone during my job transition and help me evolve gracefully to become the best version of me. That gesture of kindness empowers me to offer the quality of service to my residents and remain dedicated to my calling as a nurse. They also provided good meal when we are on duty and open avenues for us to explore and engage. TFF also did NOT FAIL to notice best performing employees and acknowledges them in their own especial way.

Cons

Challenges with the staffing. Oftentimes working with agency hired nurses.
