Pros
In a sales career, it is very important to believe in what you're selling. At TCC, we sell the tools to help people through their challenges concerning substance abuse, mental health, criminal justice-related mandates, and health/wellness, among other behavior change goals. We are compensated well and treated fairly. We are expected to work hard with no distractions for 8 hours/day, but leave at 3:00 each day and encouraged to leave work at work. Each individual employee's health and wellness are very important to leadership. We have a full time personal trainer (Johnny) who is amazing and encouraging, and we given two hours a week to work out with him on company time. The on site gym equipment is superior to most gyms that you actually would have to pay a membership for, and the sense of community among colleagues is top notch.
Cons
This is not a con for me, but for non-morning people the 6:30-3:00 pm mandatory hours could be a challenge. I personally look forward to having 3+ hours of daylight left after my workday. The learning curve in becoming comfortable in the industries we serve and products we offer is longer than most sales roles, so must be patient and willing to hear constructive criticism/feedback to get over that initial awkward hump of learning the ropes. If you do not have intrinsic motivation or a strong work ethic, this job is not right for you.
