Pros
Team Hired is 100% remote and you do have some degree of scheduling flexibility, but your level of flexibility heavily depends on who your manager is. You do get the opportunity to work on some interesting projects and I did genuinely like and respect many of my colleagues.
Cons
Sadly Team Hired cares far more about aesthetics than running a sustainable business. To give an example of what I mean by this, I had to buy a greenscreen so that I can use zoom backgrounds for our meetings, despite not doing client facing meetings, because it would be scandalous if people knew I lived in a normal house. Leadership is extremely disorganized, they have a lot of good ideas but no clue on how to effectively execute. There are a lot of panicked decisions that happen due to very temporary downturns in business. Additionally, leadership is committed to strategies that have been proven not to work when it comes to business outreach. The business development team underwent some changes during my time there and professionalism completely eroded. It was common place to hear swearing and for colleagues to be giving each other the middle finger during the business development team meetings. This team was probably one of the most unprofessional teams I have ever been on in my career. One of the company values is to have a positive mental attitude and that no negativity is allowed, and this is often weaponized against you if you bring up any issues that are going on in the company. If you enjoy toxic positivity, this is the perfect job for you. It's also disturbing the number of people who are proud that they regularly skip lunch because they are so overscheduled or are unable to go to the bathroom because of back to back meetings. It seems to be very important to leadership that you seem breathlessly busy at all times. There's a reason that hustle culture is falling out of favor. Suspiciously, anyone who sets normal and healthy boundaries disappears, never to be seen or heard from again. Ultimately, I feel I was let go because I am an adult who will go to the bathroom when I need to and takes my lunch break because that is healthy and normal. The company seems to prefer to employ people who aren't knowledgeable enough to know what is and isn't acceptable in a workplace environment and lays off anyone who is able to set boundaries for themselves. Doing your job and doing it well is not enough at Team Hired, Team Hired has to be your entire identity and if you dare to have a life outside of work, you won't last long.
