Pros
Most people are great and the work is interesting. Generally fairly flexible and allows remote working.
Cons
An extraordinarily top heavy organisation made worse by a recent round of redundancies that exclusively targeted younger and lower level staff. This has also contributed to very low levels of pay for lower and mid level employees as too much money is tied up in directors. A small number of managers are very comfortable belittling staff which crosses in to bullying at points. HR are aware of this and do nothing, even managing out bullied staff. Inter team communication is poor leading to lack of awareness of workloads/responsibilities. This manifests itself in hostile communication between teams that often devolves in to petty passive aggression. While there is clearly an effort in some areas to address this problem, it persists across the organisation. There is a significant culture problem in the organisation which has developed in to a general acceptance of aggressive management styles, and more concerning issues such as bullying, misogyny and homophobia being displayed by some managers. Complaints to HR lead nowhere.
