Pros

Interesting work that will sometimes make you feel like you're on an episode of Mythbusters. The company works on a variety of projects and technologies and if you are vocal about what you are interested in, and can demonstrate competency, you can create opportunities for yourself. Engineering culture is high energy, and fast-paced. Chief engineers have great competency. Culturally it's a great crowd. Not sure what that one other review is talking about with the conservative "snowflake" comments - I think most of us have been pleasantly surprised by how closely Systima's culture mirrors the PNW in general. If I had to guess we're probably the most hippie-dippie defense company in America just because of the Seattle location. It hasn't stopped us from making some pretty cool stuff... My advice is that Systima gives new engineers an amazing launchpad for a career in aerospace and defense. Definitely worth your time.

Cons

Workload can be insane at times, and pay doesn't necessarily reflect it. Plenty of engineers seem to have been poached over the past couple years with promises of big pay bumps.

Pros

Wonderful work-life balance with 9/80 schedule, and flexibility to work from home occasionally if you are sick or have something unexpected arise. The work itself is challenging and interesting, and the industry is stable at the worst of times, and taking off like crazy recently.

Cons

This is a small company transitioning into a larger one, so some of the kinks are still being worked out. It isn't uncommon to find yourself being a trailblazer on work that would be boilerplate at a more established company.
