Pros

Some of the workers are fine, especially in certain areas of the factory, alot of them are rather well mannered and will try their best to teach you ways of bettering yourself to become more productive or make things easier. These workers are the only reason this company get's two stars rather than one.

Cons

The management from team leaders upwards is completely and utterly incompetent , changing plans for the factory that had been arranged weeks prior within hours, then changing said plans all over again only a few hours after. This is partially due to the fact that most of the shift managers don't do much other than wander around the factory, my old manager would often come onto one of the packing lines and 'help out' despite the fact that half of the factory would be in disarray from management, or lack there of, being so terrible. Workers are blamed for everything, and this is common place in this factory, my team leader one asked me to get some chicken out of the freezer so it could defrost, which I went ahead and did, little did I know that the chicken needed to be used 15 minutes after I was told to do this, which provided enough time for the chicken to be only mildly frosty, as opposed to completely frozen over. I was later blamed for this, and my team leader and the afore mentioned manager wouldn't listen to a single word I had to say, depsite the fact that I had worked at Symington's for around a year at that point, with brilliant feedback from all of my colleagues and the few team leaders who were actually nice people. I was also kept on agency for this entire time even though I was promised a contract after 4 months, which wouldn't bother me too much, apart from the fact that there was no flexibility what so ever, despite the fact that that is the entire point of an agency, and I was also paid significantly less than anyone else who worked in my area, around £2.50 less per hour, even though I did the exact same amount of work. The management team will never admit to their own failures, and will always pin it on whoever is closest to the failure. I once accidentally placed the wrong ingredient in the wrong tub, which resulted in cross contamination. During my training (What little there was atleast) I was told that I should report a mistake like this to Quality Control instantly to avoid any cross contamination, later on that day I was called up to the manager's office, and I was effectively reprimanded for informing Quality Control of this mistake, as opposed to the mistake itself since the ingredients used could have been "reused" if quality control had not have seen them. There is also barely any screening process when it comes to hiring, and as much as for some this is brilliant, it can make jobs harder for those of us who are attempting to make a career in this factory, as alot of these people won't even be moderately hard working. A large portion of them (Sometimes even including managers) would just stand around chatting, while a few others actually worked. The company has little to no care for their employees, and treats them as if they are expendable, with no effort spent on attempting to appease their employees, not even so much as a good job or any kind of recognition, even if an employee shows great promise. 12 hour long shifts, four days a week, days and nights also don't go very far when it comes to how much your factory produces, all it does is makes it so that during the last 3-4 hours of the shift, your employees are tired and aren't as effective.
