Personally I felt that my departure was premature and handled with a lack understanding of the complete situation. Sometimes when work/life balance is very low an employee can burn out. I think it's fair to say when signs of this start to appear it's important to let the employee take some time to rest and get re-energized. Especially someone who put forth so much effort and was so loyal to the company.
