Pros
- a great first step for someone just out of school - lots of learning opportunities - Input from lower level staff is considered and taken seriously - scholars are amazing to work with - you work in partnership with scholars/families - a lot of ‘learning on the job’ which fits your style if you like hands-on learning - SEL and mental health are important in the work with scholars and equally important for staff - scholars and families really trust the org and its staff - all hands on deck mentality; supportive - generous benefits and time off
Cons
- spurts of very busy seasons - no pause points in the year to reflect and evaluate; when there is, it’s not enough time to reflect and then add suggestions for improvement - not a lot of room for upward growth but there is transparency about that from the beginning. Still a great starting point!
