Pros
None. The bad management renders vain every effort poured into the work.
As a side note - I had so much work to do (without training of any sort) that I was able to accumulate a vast experience in many enterprise-related fields of my job. Too bad it probably won't be put to good use here.
Cons
Everything.
There is no vision, and thus no mission. No long-term objectives, and the few mid-term ones are constantly jeopardized by the bad management. Several errors have been made to the point where after one year worth of development (team of 6 people), not a single copy of the product has been sold. Furthermore, the only available product does not stand a chance against the bigger competitors due to the lack of unique features and high pricing for the offered service.
Lacking objectives, development was always conducted in a "do it and see" fashion, rather than a "design it and code it" one, meaning endless re-doing of the work, either until the management was satisfied or the employee got fired.
The idea of marketing the management possesses is vague at best, with mail spamming and one-page front-sites being their best assets.
Low salaries get justified with the fact that no product has been sold - acceptable, if there was a way out of the situation.
But still, consider that a professional with 12+ years worth of experience has been offered 15-20% of the average Swiss salary for that role backed by that experience and qualifications.
The duties of my role sometimes require me to work afterhours, or overtime remotely from home.
I have been working afterhours *and* overtime almost every day since I got hired. Overtime hours were supposed to be converted to free hours by contract - never happened.
Recruitment of new employees is erratic at best.
There is no HR role (the management covers HR in fact), so don't expect a competent response. Or better, don't expect a response at all: if you're not overqualified and willing to accept extremely low salary, don't even hope for it.
There should be a proof period of 3 months (only an expenses refund, no salary), after which the work gets evaluated and the employee kept or discarded. Suffice to say I saw every proof period (except one) turn into a discard. Reason: no funds to keep the employee.
If an employee decides to switch to a better offer during the proof period, (s)he gets silence treatment until the end of the contract.
Reporting these deficiencies to the upper level would almost surely earn you a ticket for the unemployement line, with the management thinking about their pride rather than your value. Unemployment line is not an option if you hold a key role, in that case you earn psychological mobbing.
Given the current company status, I see no future for it.
An advice for job seekers: LEAVE! - as it is what I am doing too.
