Pros

- I enjoyed my direct team at AutoPoint, most everyone was competent and friendly. - When lower management was given leeway, they did their best to balance things and make everyone happy - Work/life balance was pretty good - I can't put this in Cons because it's not a con, it's a neutral: there's a new CEO but what I've heard from multiple sources is that things are still sort of up in the air. It could be good, could be bad.

Cons

- Upper management (not local) felt very disconnected. They would come to the office a few times a year, criticize us for our numbers with no consideration for the fact that they allowed Product Management to change our direction several times throughout the last three quarters, but yeah sure, its just that we're dumb or something. - Sales and management promised features with a "completion date" to clients and potential clients to try and get their business, without consulting the developers/software. There was a whole messed up process here that resulted in missed deadlines. - Sometimes things felt very directionless in regards to the bigger picture, and according to what I've heard more recently, nothing has changed. - Crap flows downhill for sure. We had some local managers that tried their best to shield the front line people from it, but it took a toll on them. - I'm not sure what the future of software development is for AutoPoint / Solera, but from what I saw before I left, it looked bleak. There were some great people who just wanted to build stable code for our clients, and sometimes it felt like product and management was resistant to the concept.
