Pros

Rory reached out to me regarding another opportunity with the company that will ultimately become my new employer. He had the wherewithal to recommend me for a different one once he had the chance to review my background and speak with the hiring manager in my behalf. He guided the process from start to finish, and I can’t thank him enough for all of his help.

Cons

The interview took a little longer than expected, but they kept me informed every step of the way.

Pros

Before joining Smith Hanley, I held corporate roles where I seemed to be busier than most of my colleagues and was making a big impact, but was paid about the same as everyone else. At Smith Hanley, I am in control of my salary. I like the entrepreneurial environment here. This is an organization where, if you work hard, stay positive and set your sights on having fun, you will be rewarded with a salary that is above that of a corporate recruiter. Senior management will give you the tools to be successful and will let you shine. I like that the leadership team continuously works to be innovative with social media outlets to advertise our services. As recruiters, we have defined areas of responsibility and no overlap, so you will not compete with other recruiters for the same candidates. That is something that distinguishes us from other recruiting agencies and it creates a positive, collaborative environment. Smith Hanley has a terrific reputation in the industry!

Cons

It's challenging to take a vacation longer than a week at a time, as our pipeline will dry up. Also, the benefits package, while decent, is not what you will find in a corporate environment.
