Pros

Sky Recruiting has built their brand as being one of the best in their business; well-known over the last 20 years in the Executive Recruitment world, there are candidates you often come across that have already spoken to or been recruited by your leaders. Leadership truly is 'cut from a different cloth' in recruitment with a framework that WORKS. Very entrepreneurial environment where your success is dependent upon your own efforts in building your own book of business and getting job orders while networking in the electrical and industrial distribution markets. As a family-owned company, you get all the perks of a close connected culture in the office, with the flexibility to take care of your own personal affairs. They have rituals and traditions that are meaningful and sentimental. You are trained with a framework they deploy and have built their reputation on with - OLD FASHIONED RECRUITING. Without all of the technological distractions, you are given a list of companies to contact, with an expectation of 4 hours of phone time each day. There are no job postings, no recruitment on LinkedIn - just you, a list, and the phone. The clients LOVE this approach as it puts you directly in contact with their competition and sales professionals who are currently working in the vein of the industry. These are passive, thriving professionals that are then introduced to the opportunity through you. It takes a very self-assured, creative individual to get a panel of candidates to step up; if you stick to their framework - it's possible. This company needs people who can get excited and can maintain the mindset that THAT NEXT CALL is THE CALL LEADING TO THE WIN. If you can get excited about that, you're golden. It's a hunt and it can be exciting.

Cons

Commissions are paid only upon payment by the clients - sometimes a wait on disbursement to you. It's heavy phone work with a high rejection rate - takes some thick skin - not for the type who needs affirmation. There is no employee advocate/HR department - the office manager can be crass and rude when asked for help/ requests.

Pros

You really learn the art of recruitment and not rely on lazy internet searches for candidates. This is a role for a self starter only that wants to be engaged in the business world. Your success is purely dependent on your willingness to put forth effort and nothing is handed to you. Please note that a bulk of the negative review are written by one disgruntled employee that was never a recruiter. Not sure why he feels so insistent on writing bad reviews posing as different people, but just trust that this is a stellar opportunity for anybody that is money motivated and enjoys a challenge. If you want a career, this is it.

Cons

You have to be willing to get uncomfortable and try new concepts in order to grow. If you are bold and assertive, you will do fine. If you are timid and easily discouraged, this may not be the job for you.

Pros

Half day on Friday (for those who hit their numbers). The company parties are lavish and fun. The benefits are great. Really good health insurance.

Cons

This is a cold call/head hunting role. You will deceitfully get phone numbers from businesses by pretending to forget the name of the person you talked to last time. Then you call the candidate and badger them for referrals. There are no warm leads in the role. They celebrate the times where managers curse you out for stealing their employees or when the office receives a cease and desist letter from a company. This is an extremely toxic workplace. The workers are not allowed to interact during phone time. You are only allowed to talk or G chat during lunch break. You are required to be on the phone for 4 hours a day. The time only starts when someone answers the phone. They try to get you on a 100% commission plan as quickly as possible. They don't tell you that you frequently go months between placements and that the commission checks do not come until the candidate has been in the role for 8 weeks.
