Pros

- The colleagues that remain are still great people although this number is rapidly reducing - Pension contribution was always good.

Cons

- Skipton is a shell of its former self, exco and management have ripped away all the enjoyable things and left colleagues to work in the barebones of a company they once loved and poured most of their working lives into. Skipton used to be seen as a company you embedded yourself in because you agreed with the values, those values are long gone now. - All decisions at the moment seem to be made on a wing and a prayer with no analysis or data to back up the thought process behind it. - Things like the return to office and TTR redundancy have been handled appallingly, being told where the door is if you don’t agree. Information gets shared and then changed the next minute before the original has been digested. - People who have been loyal to this company for years are being driven out because loyalty is no longer a respected quality and employees are just being seen as a number now. - Lower pay than competitors, this was something we were all aware of upon joining, but because of the flexibility and work life balance that was offered alongside it, we joined anyway. Now both of those are gone, all the skilled loyal colleagues are leaving, if they aren’t being made redundant anyway. - Money is clearly being spent in the wrong places, like redoing the office again and hiring more contractors. TTR colleagues are being made redundant yet more contractors are being brought in. - Life in the office is now more keep your head down and carry on as people don’t want to raise concerns publicly in case they get forced out next. Management as for honest feedback on the peakon survey and then just either ignore it or explain how they are right and you are obviously wrong. - Hopefully these reviews, the wild spending and other worrying aspects are brought up at the AGM and current exco is swiftly removed.

We are sorry this is how you feel. We are going through a period of change, and whilst we truly believe that these changes are right for the future of Skipton, we don’t underestimate the impact that change can have. You raise a lot of points, which we can’t respond too here. What I would say is, as a member-owned business, we take very seriously the responsibility of how we spend our members’ money. Colleague feedback is very important to us. We’ll never please everyone but, we do listen to feedback, as illustrated with how we adapted our approach to blended working following colleague feedback during the consultation process. If you’re open to sharing more detail at any point, you can use the internal feedback channels or you could email talentacquisition@skipton.co.uk. This way we can make sure the right people hear your feedback and we can respond in the right way. If you’d rather not, we still appreciate you sharing your feedback here, and wish you well in your career at Skipton. Thanks Rose
