Pros
The organization has a good mission and many dedicated volunteers.
Cons
Really bad management styles, constant micromanagement, toxic work environment, communication disconnect, management can be belittling/condescending to employees. Decisions from management reach staff very last minute and employees have no real input in decisions that impact them or that are in their area of expertise. A progressive organization that supports expanding health care but doesn’t give any benefits or even a health care stipend of any amount to their employees while management takes six figure salaries. Claim to stand for racial justice but they did nothing when an employee who was a victim of a racist incident that occurred within the organization notified them of the incident and they promised to act. Haven’t promoted a single person since the organization was founded. No room for growth. Terminated contracts last minute, right before the holidays of staff who had been with the organization for two cycles and who had worked extremely hard and were important to the success of the organization. The organization is not making the most of their resources to accomplish goals.
