Pros

ShopMy has incredible people who are incredibly smart, dedicated to our mission and quality human beings. It makes work so much fun to work with such an awesome group of people. On top of that, the company is in a period of such exciting growth and opportunity. If you want to learn, get opportunities to build zero to one, and have a lot of growth in the process, this is the place to be.

Cons

It's a grind. This is not a company for people who want a 9 - 5 job. We are building something exciting and people should know upfront that work life balance sometimes might be lacking.

Pros

The product is excellent, and the company is fortunate to have many talented, thoughtful, and genuinely supportive people across the organization.

Cons

The culture issues largely stem from leadership. While the company promotes a low-ego environment, leadership often appears to favor people from their own networks, creating inconsistent standards around opportunities, accountability, and retention. Employees who come through leadership connections are often moved into different roles when they underperform, while others are more likely to be managed out. There is also a perception that visibility and alignment with leadership are valued more highly than performance. This has created a culture of fear and uncertainty, with many employees lacking confidence in leadership's decision-making, and people throw others under the bus to save themselves. Comments below saying cons are simply about working longer hours are hiding the real issue. Most people are willing to go above and beyond when they feel valued. At ShopMy it feels like employees stay because they believe strongly in the product and the company's long-term potential, not because they are satisfied with the way the organization is being run.
