Pros
- You usually work with an understanding, empathetic group of people who generally care about you and your well-being. - The hospital tries its best to outreach to their employees whether it’s company gifts, free coffee/doughnuts, or some kind of reward for a hospital achievement. - They also do a pretty good job of recognizing outstanding employees whether they’re in nursing, therapy, or any other department. - As a a PCT, you learn a lot of skills working here. Including those that aren’t typically done at another hospital (intermittent catch, tube feedings).
Cons
- Despite the fact they’re always hiring, they’re always understaffed. (Or seemingly so because sometimes, they ask me everyday if I can come in.) - Seniority plays a big part here (at least for nursing.)
