Pros
Some of the most talented software engineers are here, great guys, who put in their hearts. Amazing office in the heart of Budapest. There are great projects waiting in the queue, but God knows when they'll be even looked upon. The CEO is a great businessman
Cons
There are major issues happening at this company: - Knowledge: Despite making a tool for industrial designers, mechanical engineers, no one in the higher management has engineering background, no one understands what real problems/pain points are for them. - Roadmap: The roadmap isn't constant, it is constantly changing even in one quarter, as the executive team pleases. - Communication: The company is promoting a no-bs culture, however, if you don't want to be a controversial figure, you have to keep your head low and do as told. The communication from the executive side is really really bad, looks like they live in their own reality. - Office life: The company used to be a fun workplace, where people used to love to stay; now, it became a corporate graveyard. If you are planning to go there because of the 'startup vibe', please be advised, ever since the WorkPlace experience and HR manager left, there is little to no social life. - Career progression: Be advised to take any potential promotions if you are offered one: this is a one-way ticket and you cannot return, as if it turns out that you don't wish to be in that position, you better dig your own grave, as there is no way back, you'll get yourself fired. - Remote friendliness: While being one of the loudest in the tech industry in Hungary, Shapr3D fails to implement remote friendliness, trying to force the office culture on everyone, even the ones probably working better remotely. - Total control: The need to document everything and have highly redundant bureaucracy is needed to have total control over what individual contributors do. They are bound to make a confluence page of everything, have tickets in Jira for one-day works.. +1: The CEO asked everyone who didn't believe in Shapr3D to leave a while ago. He gave these persons a bigger reward for quitting then the ones staying, taken away incentives, gave no salary increase in a year of really high inflation. There are many more cons...
