Pros

I would say one hour Lunch.

Cons

The most backward, micro-managed operation you could ever imagine. The folks use "Paper Scripts", in the year 2025. Can you imagine a remote job, reading from a paper script to speak to a Sales client? Yet, you have 5 different Scripts (some 17 pgs. long), that you are flipping through each hr. (with red editorial jargon-"If Yes, say this, if No,,,,,,-OMG). It would be laughable, if not so entirely pathetic. The so called bi- weekly Quality Reviews are a micromanaged kindergarten exercise- " You didn't read every single word of the script; "say this , say that". It is bizarrely backwards in the lack of technological know-how, processes and software. Finally, for your $0 Commission you do Medicare, Obamacare, Medicaid, Broker Support (??), and Customer Service on the products. Yet, you still can never do enough in the eyes of these lazy and incompetent Sales Managers. The lack of innovative thought is rampant. The place is a disaster in every aspect that you would touch. No wonder they are hanging on by a thin thread. Google that zoo carefully before you step into it, or buy a Healthcare product from them.

Pros

The team I was on was small but it had good people. My direct manager and her boss were great, but everyone above them were horribly disorganized and incompetent. More on that under cons. Pay was fine, slightly above the average. But raises were inconsistent. The ability to work from home was great. It was rare to be asked to work overtime, so work life balance was good.

Cons

Disorganized upper management who thought they knew better than the folks working in the weeds every day. There were multiple times that they would implement a change that my team would strongly recommend against, but it was shoehorned in anyway. Months later they would come back and say “that was actually a bad idea” and we would have to fix their mistakes, despite warning them against it in the beginning. How well you get trained also depends on your department. My team worked with other teams at Sentara that were often attempting to do things that could have put the company in legal jeopardy, but they were never told not to do it.
