Pros

None observed within this employer.

Cons

I worked at this company for a while, and my experience was mixed, to say the least. There were several glaring issues that made it hard for me to enjoy my time there. Firstly, the lack of a steady career path was a significant drawback. Management often contradicted each other, making it difficult to know where one stood in terms of career progression. It felt like there was no clear direction for professional growth. Secondly, advancement within the company seemed to be driven by favoritism and nepotism rather than merit. This created a frustrating work environment where hard work didn't always pay off, and it was all about who you knew rather than what you could do. Furthermore, the organization of technology projects was chaotic and unimpressive. As a civilian and former military veteran, I expected a higher level of professionalism, especially when dealing with defense contracts. Unfortunately, I observed young and inexperienced individuals leading projects without a proper understanding of technology or people management. The work environment seemed to be heavily influenced by feminist principles, which, while promoting gender equality, sometimes led to an uncomfortable atmosphere for those with different perspectives. Additionally, if male employees have a problem with the feminism, nepotism, and unfair treatment, it's advisable to consult with legal counsel prior to talking with their manager. Colorado has a plethora of laws that protect the rights of Colorado employees. HR and management are not your friend, no matter how soft-spoken or nice they may present themselves. They are employed by the company's owner to do what is always right for the company. Never expect a fair and impartial response from either party when dealing with workplace conflicts among co-workers. Moreover, this job requires being able to maintain a DoD Security Clearance. If you have no problem with the lengthy process to only have your clearance expire after 2 years after leaving federal contracting, then this job may be for you. Otherwise, there are a lot of IT positions within the regular private sector with better cultural norms, career advancement opportunities, equality, equity, and 2-3 times the pay for similar job roles. Alternatively, consider becoming an employer and funding your employees with the proper training. In conclusion, my time at this company had its challenges, including a lack of a clear career path, issues with advancement, disorganized projects, a unique work environment, and specific requirements for DoD Security Clearance. It may be a suitable place for some, but it wasn't the right fit for me.
