Pros
-Decent pay--while non-union, I received excellent pay for the job. -I enjoyed the union friends I made there. While the company may be 'us vs them,' if you're an 'us,' you have support. -Co-ownership: everyone pitches in to help solve issues when they arise. -Work-life balance: when the whistle blows, you go home. That's it.
Cons
-Micro-managed: discouraged from creating own solutions and demanded to work processes exactly as managers did -Too much work per person, at a fast pace, leads to burnout and lack of care in the work. -Warehouse workers are under-appreciated and rewards for longstanding service are embarrassingly pathetic. -Executives & union workers lack trust in each other. This was discernable in daily work, and was a constant 'us vs them.'
