Pros

There are some talented people there and interesting projects

Cons

They had THREE mass layoffs under a year. Their leadership is such a a mess. The culture has greatly suffered since the layoffs and many talented people have already left and many others are halfway out the door. Sasaki is an old boys club and not a great place for women. I know of multiple talented and deserving women they promoted and denied them a raise. It is also clear that "the old boys club" has been protected from layoffs. They say they care about equity, but they do not practice any of it internally.

Pros

I had an amazing experience at Sasaki. The office culture was collaborative, respectful, and intellectually generous, with a very horizontal structure that allowed interns to contribute meaningfully. I appreciated the exposure to complex urban design and campus planning projects, the integration between disciplines, and the opportunity to learn from highly experienced designers and principals. Overall, it was a strong professional and learning experience.

Cons

Because the internship was relatively short, it sometimes felt like there was limited time to fully follow projects through different phases.
