Pros

Opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology: You get to be hands-on with market-leading identity security solutions, including cloud migrations (ISC), which keeps your technical skills highly relevant and up-to-date. Empowering leadership and high autonomy: The management team offers incredible flexibility and a high degree of freedom of action. There is a strong culture of mutual trust where micromanagement is virtually non-existent, allowing you to truly own your projects and make decisions autonomously. High-impact and high-visibility role: As a Technical Project Manager, you have the opportunity to lead critical projects for major, high-profile clients, giving you significant ownership and professional visibility. Stimulating and complex problem-solving: The day-to-day work involves tackling highly interesting technical challenges—from optimizing robust connectors (like SAP and Okta) to resolving intricate workflows—which is intellectually rewarding. Strong collaborative environment: You work closely with diverse internal and external teams, fostering a great culture of teamwork and continuous cross-functional learning.

Cons

Fast-paced, high-pressure environment: Managing high-stakes projects for major enterprise clients often comes with tight deadlines and high expectations for rapid, effective issue resolution. Legacy system complexity: Supporting and navigating older legacy infrastructures (like IIQ) during cloud migrations can present heavy technical debt and be quite time-consuming. Intense coordination overhead: The role demands constant, heavy alignment across multiple internal engineering teams, external vendors, and client stakeholders, which can sometimes result in communication bottlenecks. Steep learning curve: Given the depth of the identity security domain and the highly customized integrations required for each unique client, getting fully up to speed can feel quite overwhelming at first.

Pros

Maybe I lucked out, but this is has truly been my dream job. I was hired as a junior-mid level developer (not product), but my experience has been mostly in low-code platforms. I basically get paid 6 figures to learn how to code on the job and I get to participate in cool initiatives. I definitely feel very lucky and grateful and SailPoint's culture 100% contributes to my satisfaction. I get to work from anvwhere in the world, I get a flexible schedule, free lunch, free, good coffee made by a barista on-site, good 401k match, and my boss doesn't care what my schedule is, only what I deliver matters. It's the first time in my career where I feel like l'm being treated like a trusted adult and I'm so happy.

Cons

My experience has been heavily affected by lucking out with my manager. I imagine maybe other managers in the company are not as cool. Stock price is not looking great but it honestly doesn't affect my day-to-day work so I don't really care. Lower salaries compared to other SaaS companies, specifically for Software Engineering.
