Pros
--like minded young traders who will work hard with you --moved to Austin-based KTG from T3, which is a huge upgrade in broker dealers... better fees and technology --will learn how to scalp level II patterns... which is a double edged sword depending on what your personality as a trader is. i was a natural scalper so it was a + for me, i saw other traders who tried to imitiate and developed bad habits (harder to unlearn sh*t than to learn new things) when they were better off with a more conventional style
Cons
--50-50 split not worth it for a good trader... I get the biz of day trading, which is why I won't list "no gauranteed salary" as a con, but the split sucks and the technology+support does not make up for it, no matter how much they convince you otherwise --when i compare their "professional training program" to cheaper alternative education sites that a lot of retail traders use, i find it lacking... it's a sham to be selling this for $1000's of dollars when it hasn't been updated since 2009 most likely --best traders leave (like their former head trader GMan) --lack decent quant support in the NY branch (although you can contact people in Austin to help)
