Pros
When you love what you do, you accept there are good days and bad days. This is literally the business of navigating human needs - both the parents and clients. The clients are already disadvantaged in this world, and the stress level starts high for mom and dad. I absolutely love working with the clients, being part of their progress and helping them achieve gains is very special. I believe the staff at Roots has the right skills, and is trained adequately. The therapy is enjoyable both to provide and receive. The company culture is positive. We have access to all teammates for collaboration. The pay is more than fair and the scheduling is flexible for working parents.
Cons
The biggest con at Roots basically comes down to work load. It is manageable when everyone shows up and works together. It is quite unfair to the remainder of the staff when someone calls out at the last minute, then we all struggle. The needs of our clients do not allow for colleagues who are not committed to the job that mostly all of us love deeply.
