Pros
-Able to recieve time off when necessary. -Slightly flexible hours for high school students. -Free ice-skating and pick-up hockey when employed.
Cons
-Management doesnt care about employees. -Pays were cut by 50 cents within a month of being hired because the company wasnt doing well, people under the age of 18 wont make more than $7.75. -Assistant Managers make minimum wage $8.25. -They have 16 and 17 year olds working as Assitant Managers rather than legitmate professionals. -They use the point system for punishment and give them out like candy, 10 points you get fired. -New employees every month. In the 10 years of operation, they have had over 1000 employees. -Horrible communication, changes and rules are made within the company over night and are not documented on paper. -Zamboni Drivers/Ice-Side Managers make $9.00 an hour even after working there for 3 years. -Always quick and ready to fire employees for the most minor things. -Attendants have to clean the facility during hours of operation rather than help customers. -Attendants do extensive cleaning even after closing. -They center their management on a select few people which makes them highly dependent on those individuals. -Very poor interviewing and hiring skills, (they hire people who should not even have jobs). -Very limited discounts. (10% on food, free ice skating/pick up hockey, 1 ice skating class per year). -They wont allow you to work full time because they dont want to give you benefits. -They teach horrible customer service skills. -Employees stop caring about the job within weeks of becoming hired. -Nepotism is present, family memebers and friends of management get hired (even though they have horrible work ethic).
