Pros

* Good office * Good engineering talent * Good WLB and unlimited PTO

Cons

* Constant employee attrition. Just save yourself trouble and don't join here unless you want to experience 75% attrition * Stingy founders, valuation is a lie. They won't raise again because the valuation will fall to 800M from 3.2B. Ask your recruiter about growth rate of revenue and current revenue and do your math. Hit up a VC to ask what the true valuation should be * Unmotivated employees. No incentive with small grants in inflated stock value. With the caliber of employees here, most leave for OpenAI, Anthropic, Anysphere etc. as they should. * Directionless. Retool leadership didn't invest in AI until recently and so the product is playing catch up. With the money we pay, no good AI engineers would ever join us so we're left following the market. Retool prides itself in being "resourceful" and the results are here to see. * Leadership has no vision. Founders seem content with a lifestyle business growing at a tiny % every year.

Pros

Fast pace, with plenty of opportunity to work with modern tooling, supportive culture, and solid engineers

Cons

Retool’s in the middle of a transformation into the world of AI-driven app building and it’s caused its fair share of attrition. But, at least there’s strong buy-in across the company at this point

Pros

It’s hard to find a company that seems to genuinely care about their employees. Leadership and frontline listens if you explain context and present solutions to challenges. Sales org is strong. Solid partner strategy. Product teams leaned in and listening. Flexible and supportive work life balance. And a really interesting and exciting direction in term of product market fit. Good benefits.

Cons

Calendars get busy fast during the day. Lots of competing priorities because we’re trying to compete with an ever changing market.
