Unfortunately there is more cons than pros when working for remitly…some management don’t have a clue what they are doing and seem to get a kick out of bullying people out of their roles which I saw with my owns eyes while working at remitly. A lot of promises were broken to associates who had taken the role back in April/May with people claiming they didn’t know about the changes which were coming down the line very soon after we started but this was proven a lie shortly thereafter. Shifts are absolutely horrendous (I did hear this was suppose to be changing before I left but with Remitly, who really knows?), absolutely no work life balance, 2 weekends a month, no supplement for working until 12AM or starting at 6AM, no parking, no reimbursement for parking which costs a fortune every week, no work from home option, constant gossiping and arms and legs growing onto rumours which are started in the office as associates are told nothing and are only told a couple of days before changes are brought in. Lack of communication between management, some teams are told different information to other teams (hence the rumours), people being rejected for visa sponsorship when we had someone sent over to help people with this (apparently new measures have been put in place), instead of help for visas or increasing the salary remitly decided to cut the working hours by one hour every week. Cut costing measures that were put in place later this year resulted in the company removing benefits from employees. No bonuses. Very limited career opportunities if you don’t ‘fit the mold’ (basically if you don’t need your mouth shut)
