Pros

The office space is big and beautiful

Cons

This office is currently being run by Optum, however, I was informed that they had a private owner in the beginner. With all of the ownership changes, they lost all of their staff. They literally went from 30 plus therapists to TWO! Sure the office space is big with lots of individual offices but it was also empty and now I see why! The interviewer/clinic director from Optum lies to get employees in the door and then they lay all of these unreasonable expectations on you like: 1) They said the expected # of therapy hours should be 26. I clarified during my interview if you get any penalty for not hitting that quota and the director said no because its a salaried position. Later on, that 26 number turned into 30 and they basically required 30 available hours for therapy which changes a lot in terms of scheduling 2) They said that if we wanted to we could do all of our therapy sessions in 4 days rather than 5, and make the choice to not see clients one day a week. However, the director will begin to micromanage and want to know what you are doing daily/hourly on days when you are not in the office (and even when you are in the office but not seeing clients) 3) This office has no in house administrative or management team! If you want to talk to someone you have to see if someone in a completely different state is available by Microsoft Teams. The 2 therapists they have employed are not responsible for answering all of the new staffs questions. They should have had someone there to help new employees with onboarding 4) The director expects newly hired therapists to do the job of a receptionist, recruiter, and admin. Why should a new therapist have to take a training meant for admin staff? If you need admin staff then hire admin staff to do that job! 5) They tell you that you can make your own schedule and choose your own hours but then when you do, they say that you need to extend your hours to meet the needs of the company and the clients that cant make it during the day. Why is it one therapists job to make themselves available morning noon and night? If the clinic mostly gets referrals for evening sessions then how about hiring therapists that have indicated they have evening availability? 6) The director also wanted new therapists to go out and pass out brochures for the clinic to local businesses and schools…..whyy? We are not recruiters.
