Pros
Overall, the firm is a premium boutique so as an analyst or associate, there is early exposure to top-tier clients with a pure focus on meaningful strategy consulting engagements and topics (growth, M&A, disruption). Moreover, the coaching and guidance model is immersive given the boutique model and it’s not uncommon for junior team members to support the partners on presentations and key client issues (you are given a lot of responsibility early on). As such, past colleagues have pursued solid exit opportunities (Technology Strategy, VC/PE, Corporate Development, Other Strategy Consulting).
Cons
The biggest con is that unlike other consulting firms, the engagements are not long-term implementations or process redesign / performance improvement (with associated on-site delivery models). As such, the strategy focus sometimes leads to some short-term staffing decisions that the firm and the partners try to manage (they are reasonable and weekend work was always a “last resort”). As a growing firm, there have been “growing pains” as it relates to training and offering an immersive coaching environment. However, the partners have been actively investing in improving this dimension of the firm experience.
