Compensation is Low - Independent Contractor RC Health Services Employee Review

Pros

Set up is first class

Cons

The compensation is low per hour. If an instructor does not finish in five hours, including completing instruction (including each student completing a hands-on assessment and a 25 question exam), grading exams, filling out all paperwork and processing each student's CPR card through AHA, s/he is counseled and fired if s/he cannot speed things up. In addition, if a student signed up for First Aid, that takes another hour. AHA requires their videos to be played in their entirety.

Cons

No structure, No official policies, you’re a freelance employee at-will. Don’t ask questions, don’t need anything, just teach or do admin tasks. We saw so many instructors and office staff terminated. The longest one that stayed was 3 months? I don’t like to think anybody is special, but it is so toxic that they fire anybody for literally anything. One misstep and you’re gone. Don’t be late because something happened, complete the paperwork with the training you didn’t receive, don’t clock in or out 15 minutes more than your scheduled time. If ancient equipment breaks, fix it yourself with some superglue or pay us the retail value of what it cost when we bought it 10 Years ago. Please, above all else, no suggestions or recommendations. This goes against our “management style”! Please only accept direction from your superior who has been here for only 2 weeks unless it comes from someone else.
