Pros
If you like Chaos and confusion you’ll thrive in this situation. If you like long hours with a low wage you’ll love this place. If you need a physical workout and can’t afford a gym I suggest working here, you’ll get to work out and get a bit of money instead. Most of the employees are good people just doing their best to make a living and support their families.
Cons
Terrible terrible work culture, safety is an afterthought, the sheer volume of product has continuously grown to a staggering size. With no increase to the employee staff pool. The warehouse is to small for the volume of product they take in so you are continually moving mountains of product just to fill orders. A job that should take an hour and a half takes 3x’s as long if not longer. The computer operation system they have in place is 20 years out of date and doesn’t even work the way it’s intended. There’s no consistency in sop’s At all if you don’t have extensive product knowledge of tile, laminate or carpet and all accessories do yourself a favour and keep looking. The owners kid is completely entitled and either slight, lazy or just doesn’t give 2 cents because he knows there’s nothing that can be done to him so job security is not even a consideration. If you let them they’ll work you to the ground. The amount of stress they’ll dish out is not even remotely worth it, this place will turn you into a bitter soul. The physical work load is a lot, on some days you’re hand bombing 5-10,000lbs worth of product, most mixes of tiles is around 50lbs. You may get some assistance but chances are not. It took me months of complaining to get help in the warehouse. By the time they got someone I was already done and looking for work. I took the Christmas holidays off and pretty much didn’t go back. They’re full of stories, there’s no room for advancement or growth so the job you get hired fore is where you’ll stay until you die or leave. If I didn’t have a young family I wouldn’t have stayed for as long as I did.
