Pros

The company has good salary and benefits. They are flexible with time off and have started to allow flexible work schedules and telecommuting to help people with fuel costs and work-life balance.

Cons

The company is still a bit "siloed" so cross communication between departments can be difficult at times. Change comes at a glacial pace with some backsliding after good changes have been effected.

Pros

The best reasons to work for Progress Energy is that is Economy proof. Everyone needs power to continue their couch potato-tv watching-not sweating lives and without electricity that is impossible. Good pay, good benefits, nice people and safe locations to work in.

Cons

High school like atmosphere among upper management. "Click" clubs who control most of the call center's operations who probably should not. Poor planning associated with business needs. Management is afraid to speak up in the presence of upper management or report negative information to their superiors, so they can maintain whatever image it is they are trying to project. Businesses are successfully if factual data is actually used to determine goals, projected work loads and needs. There is no formula going on here. It is by the seat of the pants for the most part. Luckily, we have a captive audience or this ship would have sank long ago.
