Pros
Easy job for the pay. Managers are kind and will have your back. Other personal are friendly. Benefits are good. One of the best service companies to be at in the Permian. I would describe the job as one of the best experiences you never want to have again… with that being said, my negative comments aren’t the experience of this company or job rather what I wish I had known before taking the job. Pro tips: - make connections it’s about who you know not what you know. - never skip meal cooked in the field, best food you’ll ever eat. - the frac 15 is worse than the freshman 15 haha - get out and be a hand, your crew will like you more and you’ll probably get more enjoyment out of the job. just don’t get in the way. - save as much as you can and always have backup plan. layoffs aren’t personal.
Cons
Long boring hours sitting 95% of the time (85+ hrs/ week not including travel time, office and back or field back). The job is essentially the same day in and day out. Typical day is 3-6hrs of paper work spread out over 12hrs, and on a bad day add 1-4 hrs of computer problems. Little to no work life balance, no time for friends/ fun. A lot of negativity towards the job. Usually not seen as a real “engineer” or not good enough to make it to the operators and you will be treated as such… 14/7 schedule. If you travel or for fun or home subtract 2 days from your days off. Chairs aren’t comfortable No lunch break or break at all besides between stages or dt Holiday work even the big ones
