Pros

- Many opportunities to learn - Very high profile in the industry - recognized as a technology leader in many areas - Unique work experience - Surrounded by very experienced and knowledgeable people

Cons

- Learning opportunities are very niche - Old school corporate mentality born (complacency born from past success) - Lack of ability to move up can be frustrating - Employees who have been here a while have somewhat given up and just accept status quo - Corporate is perfectly satisfied with mediocrity. They are thrilled to point out everything we get (benefits, salaries, etc) are just barely par with "industry average." Perfect example is the target satisfaction in the annual employee survey is 65%... - Several cuts have been made in the last year, possibly the most annoying being the significant reduction of the education plan that used to be touted as the finest in the industry (which it WAS....past tense).

Pros

Plenty of opportunity to move up within the company. Willing to pay for schooling through Raytheon's education program. Plenty of PTO and sick time.

Cons

I feel that the location I was at did not pay competitively.

Pros

Concern for Safety is a legitimate priority. The work is very process oriented and theres little uncertainty or chaos in the day to day. Theres a formalized way of doing everything. Work-life balance is good for the american standard.

Cons

The company is 100+ years old so the way things get done is over-constrained and very resistant to change. As a result work can be monotonous and Information, while abundant, is extremely difficult to reliably retreive. You will work harder not smarter.
