Pros

Each site is unique and attempts to adopt the culture of the client they serve. This uniqueness a good thing and allows for some creativity regarding member engagement programming.

Cons

It's been very hard for me to advance into a management role. It took me 6.5 years! Other staff members at other sites with similar and less experience have moved up within a calendar year and sometimes less. I didn't have supportive management whom could cultivate my development and desire to advance. I have also applied to a few positions in which no one ever contacted me back and I was an internal candidate!!

Work life balance with generous PTO and client holidays. Autonomy provided in position.

Cons

Poor merit increases, no increases to match inflation, lack of improvements or advancements, management lacks vision to progress in meeting client needs
