Pros

They pay 100% of your health insurance, because you're going to need it! ...but good luck being able to go to an actual doctor's appointment. You have to work a mandatory 55+ hours a week.

Cons

Leadership is toxic and exploitative. There's no respect for boundaries and work-life balance. People are forced to work overtime weekly, with no ability to leave early in the event of extenuating circumstances. You are told to use your PTO even if you've worked 40+ hours in the week- which is a labor and wage violation. Leadership has no formal training in leadership and people have been put in roles they are unqualified for simply, because of favoritism and nepotism. The company claims to be focused on DEIB, but are extremely ableist in the systems they create. The HR department does nothing to facilitate accommodations for employees with disabilities. They refuse to hire anyone who speaks English as a second language and has a "strong accent." The leadership in this company is toxic and creates an unhealthy work environment that is abusive and detrimental to employee's health.

Pros

you work with people that make you feel good, people that make you forget how much of a mess it is working for Planta Restaurants

Cons

planta is a circus, it used to be a really good company, but after working there for a long time it’s obvious how much it’s gone downhill since the bankruptcy, turnover is insanely high, people come in thinking planta is what they were promised and leave a few days later once they see what it actually is, a company with no structure, lately everyone who’s been there long-term is leaving because of how bad it’s gotten, after working multiple roles and grinding nonstop there’s just nothing left for you, you won’t have real growth opportunities, your manager will tell you everything’s fine and then go talk behind your back about you and your work, there’s no real training or support, you’re just expected to figure it out no matter what, you’ll get hit with bad reviews and be blamed for it even when it has nothing to do with you, it’s the structure, the lack of staff, the unprofessional management, the drama that comes down from your GM, no support, no motivation, and the money isn’t worth it, i thought a lot about posting this because Planta Restaurants meant a lot to me, but after quitting and working somewhere else for a bit i realized it was the best decision, i got my mental health back and realized i was holding on to what planta used to be.
