Pros

$5 golf Great courses Beautiful Setting

Cons

I worked at Pinehurst as a caddie for roughly a year and a half. I have worked in unprofessional and toxic environments in the past and the management and culture here tops that list easily. The caddie master here is wildly unprofessional. The culture he has created here reminds me of going back to high school. Constant gossip, tearing people down, trying to get reactions out of people because he is the one “in charge”. This guy would brag to people in the shack about firing people because he simply didn’t like them. Simply unprofessional. The unprofessionalism here is a laundry list. It starts with him and trickles down to most people involved here. I came into this job passionate about the game of golf and left with no intention of picking up my clubs. While golf to its core is a beautiful game I was quickly reminded that the stereotypical culture around it is real. I would say if you’re a kid who enjoys gossip and being in a culture that tries to tear people down as long as that person isn’t you then this job may be for you. However, if you are an adult who just wants to work hard, mind your business, make a living and go home stay as far away from this place as possible. Maybe there are other environments to work as a caddie that are much better.
