Pros
It is a small but growing company so there is a great deal of opportunity for advancement if you can handle the dynamic nature of the hospitality staffing business. The Director/Owner shares his visions with his staff on an ongoing basis and he has great plans for the future, which include opening up to six offices within the next two years.
Penguin provides extensive training in areas that can provide interested candidates with excellent resume-building experience, and there is great opportunity for personal growth and advancement since it is currently comprised of only ten full-time internal office staff, and the company is always looking to cover new ground.
Cons
By nature, the hospitality staffing business is very dynamic and chaotic - there is no closure since Penguin does on-call staffing, 24 hours a day. The sales associates share custody of the 24-hour hotline, which they are required to answer and tend to like a fussy baby, on their "off" time. That is, the account managers are always responsible for any call-outs or last minute orders, and have to be prepared to devote extra time to ensuring the quality of their service. It is a great opportunity for a career builder but believe me, it is not for the faint of heart or weak of will.
