Poorly run, toxic environment - Primary Therapist Peaks Recovery Centers Employee Review

Pros

Some good fellow therapists with their heart in the right place

Cons

Family run, and family dynamics. Through and through. No one else is more important than how much money they can make, staff and clients included. A lot of talk with little follow through, except in their own expansion. Clinical staff turnover is unbelievable, and what you'd expect of entry-level community mental health rather than a private business. Lower-level staff turnover is even worse. They are loyal to the bottom line, though they will convince some to care about them and their mission for a long time. Two years almost did me in, I cannot imagine what more might have felt like.

Pros

Positive culture, open-door policy, great team spirit, competitive pay, opportunities for personal and professional growth, peers who genuinely care for you, quality supervision

Cons

Poor vacation package, under-staffed, stuck between small and big-sized company management mentalities (sometimes formal, sometimes not—this toes the line of toxic management), rapidly growing (can be a pro, but this can lead to over-worked staff
