Pros

Flexible hours, most colleagues are passionate about the work, hybrid work arrangements, don’t have to bill medi-cal, great interpreter program allowing for communication with clients.

Cons

Positions are underpaid for direct service providers, remote work policy is not unilaterally applied to all staff. Management is inexperienced, and unable to adhere to most basic employment laws when it comes to staff pay, while being condescending and uncooperative. Morale is extremely low, there is no trust between management and direct service providers. Ongoing DEI issues, lack of transparency about hiring and retention, and retaliation against staff who voice concerns. No prospective salary increases, and little support offered to pre-licensed clinicians without significant advocacy on their parts. Clients seemed somewhat satisfied with services received because providers deeply care about the work, but there is no support from management and burn out abounds.

Pros

The organization is driven by a clear mission, with a staff that authentically cares about the community of stakeholders. They are dedicated to impactful and essential work. The direct service team is not only passionate but also highly motivated. The administrative team recognizes the significance of the mission and proactively fosters an environment where the program team is equipped with all the necessary resources and tools, setting the stage for success

Cons

Amidst the challenges of a post-pandemic landscape, there has been significant turnover and rapid growth within the organization. In the past 12 months alone, two-thirds of the leadership team chose to move on. As the organization experienced this surge, it grappled with growing pains, the existing organizational and operational infrastructure wasn't robust enough to sustain such expansion. In an effort to strike a delicate balance between growth and the establishment of a stronger foundation, the organization has been actively working to enhance its infrastructure. However, this has not been without its operational challenges. Additional challenges includes financial resources.

Pros

Clients are great, and deserve all the support from PTR. Staff is incredibly diverse,

Cons

Pay is insufficient to justify the workload and emotional distress. Do not include staff in decision-making, despite changes that significantly affect us.
