Pros
You get to work with really smart and curious people both inside and outside the company. The culture is very pro leaning on and learning from each other, which provides a lot of opportunity for professional growth. The work is [mostly] fun, and you'll get a lot of different projects throughout the year. There's really no time to be bored. We also take care to reflect on those projects and processes, celebrating the work while also pinpointing what could have been better, where we can improve next time. Unlike in an agency setting, if the partnership with a client isn't working out Jim and Julie will work to rectify it or will end that relationship. This is a huge relief.
Cons
Employees maintain a high level of autonomy, which isn't for everyone. In some cases you need to poke people more than once if you're waiting on something. Meetings galore. Health insurance is meh but it's a small company.
