Pros
I'm more of a list than writing summary so here it goes: - Remote office is the major pro - Great employees and colleagues, wonderful team camaraderie. - Small company, everyone knows each other and gets along great - One on one training from manager to employee - There's one department that uses OneNote that is like a virtual notebook, holds many documents, especially very helpful when it comes to training new employees - The opportunity to earn more via incentives/bonuses - I can easily pick up the phone or send a message via Teams and not worry about not receiving a response, especially from my manager. There is always a response and always support. - Overall, although there are different departments, all employees in each department get along with others in different departments. - Fun company events - BBQ grill competition, Padres games, holiday parties, brunch, even happy hour Fridays at around 3:30pm via Teams and/or Zoom. Sometimes those who are local to San Diego will get the opportunity to attend in person events. Out of towners are also encouraged to join and the company will assist with some travel costs. -Able to work and partner with various properties and companies not just in San Diego, but all over the USA, and even international (some examples are Japan, Mexico, England to name a few)
Cons
- Wish the system that the company uses (Oscar) is faster. I know the company that created Oscar is beta testing to web version and so far seems to be faster and more efficient - Multiple changes in processes, can get convoluted and confusing at times - Employees need to trust program more and get out of the email storage mentality - When it's your time to work the after-hours on call, it can be stressful at times. Great thing is that there is quite a bit of employees that the rotation is almost once every other month. -It can be stressful during the summer season, but that is because that is the time when it get's busier, which is great (so I'm not sure if this is a con?) Time off approved during summer may be minimal, but that is the nature of this type of industry, in which summer is the busiest.
