Pros

- Have awesome ideas and want them to be heard/executed? - Want to broaden your skill set and get a chance to work with a savvy team and big brands in a variety of marketing channels? - Looking for an encouraging environment with some flexibility that suits your day to day lifestyle? You'll find that at Outspoken Media!

Cons

As with many boutique agencies a lot of responsibilities are spread out across the team. Finding the right candidates are always crucial to maintaining the right company culture and goals. Both challenging hurdles in a field with too few candidates but a great opportunity for those looking to work with the best of the best.

Thank you for the review! I feel like the pros are a great salest pitch for a recruiter. :D I'll send them here! As for the cons, we still face these challenges though we're getting better with the responsibilities portion. We have more defined roles today and only a few team members feel pulled in different directions and like they're carrying too much on them. The good news? We know who we need to hire to help relieve the pressure! Making that happen is the biggest challenge, but gone are the days of experimenting with who we *think* will work out--our batting average is much higher now, because we know how to hire and train for both the core roles and remote. Filling out that Leadership team is the next big challenge... Thank you again for your time with us! :) ~R

Pros

- The work we do for clients is invigorating. - Everyone on the team is encouraged to jump in and contribute. - Issues get worked through quickly and openly. Communication is encouraged, and people take responsibility for their role in miscommunications and misunderstandings. (I've experienced this personally.) - The salaries are fair and competitive. - The benefits are outstanding. Unlimited PTO, fitness benefit, office expense reimbursement for remote employees, fantastic insurance policies with generous employer contributions, clothing allowance for those speaking at conferences, etc. - Team is likeminded on social issues that plague many workplaces, such as sexism, harassment, and bullying, as well as broader social issues that affect our environment, our more vulnerable citizens, etc. - The team has "adopted" a family and contributes regularly to their needs with things like gift certificates.

Cons

- Team is in transition to more automated processes, which brings growing pains common to this kind of shift. - Team struggles with managing employee time spent of billable projects vs non-billable tasks.

Wow! Invigorating is a great word and to see it next to the work we do for clients, it makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Everything you mentioned above is who we strive to be daily. Sometimes we fall down and make mistakes, but with the best of intentions. Having an honest culture paired with kindness and positivity makes this a really wonderful space to grow in... management included! Thank you for choosing us and the advice. We'll always be learning and need this feedback to keep going in the right direction.
