Pros
- The work we do for clients is invigorating.
- Everyone on the team is encouraged to jump in and contribute.
- Issues get worked through quickly and openly. Communication is encouraged, and people take responsibility for their role in miscommunications and misunderstandings. (I've experienced this personally.)
- The salaries are fair and competitive.
- The benefits are outstanding. Unlimited PTO, fitness benefit, office expense reimbursement for remote employees, fantastic insurance policies with generous employer contributions, clothing allowance for those speaking at conferences, etc.
- Team is likeminded on social issues that plague many workplaces, such as sexism, harassment, and bullying, as well as broader social issues that affect our environment, our more vulnerable citizens, etc.
- The team has "adopted" a family and contributes regularly to their needs with things like gift certificates.
Cons
- Team is in transition to more automated processes, which brings growing pains common to this kind of shift.
- Team struggles with managing employee time spent of billable projects vs non-billable tasks.
