Pros

food is great, better than I expected Very few problems with food/kitchen. They hired me, when all other employers were still collecting resumes. Plenty of parking. Mostly dinner service, so ample time to look for another job or work on your tan. Strong emphasis on consistentcy with drink pours, temps, and portions. Management actually does care about the customer, even though they are making everybody's life hell, especially theirs. Uses Hotschedules system. Great online system to view your schedule, pick up or give away shifts. Decent clientele, so tips were usually good. Scheduling is quite flexible, which makes this a perfect job for students.

Cons

One word- Favoritism, favoritism, and tons more favoritism. Scheduling was very inconsistent . one week ok shifts, next week only a few lousy shifts.See above. Income is a roller coaster due to schedule nightmares. see above. Managers expect staff to be brown nosed teachers pets. If you are a hospitality professional, you are in trouble if you do your job like you are supposed to, see above, I left elementary school several decades ago. Hosts are clueless as to fair seating. You will be expected to party and socialize with them if you want any guests to be seated in your station. Managers love to criticize, especially in front of an audience of their "chosen" teachers pets. Managers love to play head games with the schedule, If you did not suck up that week, next weeks schedule for you will be crumbs, while the teachers pets get the lucrative shifts. Waitstaff has to tip out 3% of sales to bar, bussers, AND hosts. Tipping out bar sucks when you have had nothing but kiddies all night, and it would be nice if they could just pay the host staff a tolerable wage. Management will do anything to pinch a penny. If your station is slow, you will be cut, and then be expected to run food at $3.75/hr. No HR department. When you finally stand up to all of the funny business, get ignored, and talk to corporate, you can expect your schedule to be " revised". Managers work 50 to 70 hours a week and are often burnt out at best, and frequently downright cranky. Managers love double standards to the point of being two faced. Even though the tips are good, the overall income is lousy because you may be looking at an empty station for most of the night if you did not suck up. Cliques, and more cliques.

Pros

The store level can be a really rewarding experience, I come to work and genuinely enjoy my job and coworkers.

Cons

Hovering corporate can be a headache. You don't have a say on which location you are sent to after training just a consideration of your location and commute. The bonus system is lacking with metrics that are hard to obtain and only quarterly. Raises are hardly cost of living wages and seniority isnt rewarded as new managers typically come in making as much if not more than senior managers.
