Pros

Nice colleagues, bonding through shared suffering Location next to public transport

Cons

1. Management flips flops too often and is indecisive to make important calls. 2. Tasks are vague and manager will become unhappy when things are done in a different way when she did not communicate it properly. 3. The culture of shouting in the office starts at the top and drips to middle management - please learn to control your emotions at work and be professional. 4. Favouritism is very clear

Pros

1. HQ is next to MRT station and easy to commute to, but you'll sometimes have to go outstation to hotel/school, and can be difficult if you don't have your own transport. 2. Line managers and colleagues tend to be a very good support group. 3. If just salary alone, it's slightly above market rate.

Cons

1. Toxic environment - C-suites would often compare how hotels operate 24/7, and so should you. There's a butterfly effect from how the pressure is applied from the bosses' bosses all the way to the employees. 2. Mistakes aren't tolerated. Employees will get called out in front of everyone for slip ups. Sometimes you'll be made an example out of for something unrelated to the work, because someone from management is in a bad mood. 3. Things bend to the whims of shareholders. It's common for focus on certain KPIs for ongoing long-term projects to be shifted away because shareholders see something they don't like and feel the need to jump on it right away. It's why things become fast-paced, because they tend to be last minute.
