Pros

Pays timely on a weekly basis

Cons

This company has no interest in workplace morale. It sends harsh emails with misinformation and out-of-context details. For example, I experienced an unexpected move and sale of my home. The stress started to impact my health. I had to search for a new residence in a very narrow window of time, and unfortunately, had to do so during work hours. Omni sent very harsh emails about not meeting the required work hours each week, although I had made them aware of my issues. They couldn't care less about my personal welfare, but instead, inflicted more stress via threatening emails. They also attempted to change the terms of the Statement of Work (SOW or contract) I executed via email, using a very harsh writing style. After I pointed out the inaccuracies and provided documentation (a copy of the executed contract), they did reply with an email stating that the initial was incorrect, but no acceptance of accountability was offered. Instead, the response proceeded to justify the inaccuracy, stating they confused it with a contract for those hired after I was hired. After the experience, I was locked out of their systems and gave the reason that they had reports that I work outside of the United States. An allegedly tech support person snooped around my computer and confirmed that I am within the United States and unlocked my account. The next week, they locked the account again. This time, they terminated my contract and offered the reason that "Omni’s business model limits contractors to working within the US. As a business partner, you are expected to operate within Omni’s model. We have decided to end our business relationship and you will be ineligible for reassignment with Omni. " I was born in the United States and have never resided or traveled outside of the United States. I am a naturally born United States citizen. On the program I was working on, the ball kept moving, but the pay rate never changed. For example, the client continuously changed tasks and processes, resulting in increased workload, but Omni never offered a pay increase to compensate for the additional tasks. Beware of this company, because they treat independent contractors (ICs) like employees instead of ICs.

Thank you for sharing your feedback! We’re glad you appreciate the flexibility of being able to choose your own hours and workdays. Since Omni Interactions offers 1099 contractor opportunities, pay rates are set per contract rather than adjusted like a traditional employee wage. Contractors can, however, explore new contracts as they become available, which may offer different pay structures or incentives. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience!

Pros

Good culture at least for my project. Fair pay. Managers that care even if it feels like a lot of stuff "bad" about the project is out of their hands because it's set by the company we are contacting for

Cons

Hours can be hard to come by and if / when the project you're working on ends it can be a while before a new one pops up. Contract work so you pay self employment taxes

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback, and we're glad to hear that you've had a positive experience with your project's culture, pay, and support from your leaders. We know that when client-driven policies feel out of a support leader's control, it can be frustrating, and we appreciate you recognizing the effort our support leaders put in despite those constraints. We hear you on the challenges with hours and gaps between projects — this is one of the harder realities of contract-based work, and we're continually working to improve project pipeline visibility and minimize downtime between assignments. We also recognize that self-employment tax responsibilities are an adjustment for many independent contractors, and we try to provide resources to help make that transition easier. Your point about certification is valuable feedback. We're always evaluating how to make certification as effective as possible, and input like yours — especially from someone who's experienced different approaches — helps us shape those decisions going forward. Thanks again for your honest and balanced review. We're glad to have you as part of the team.
